7. The Helicopter Ride

While Grimblegrot controls the helicopter, Curly and Boysie gaze down at the land beneath them.
"I can see the whole of Bluefern forest!" shouts Boysie. "Look, there's Ferdy Fox with Joe Stoat. They do look small."

The helicopter flies to the river

"I expect we look small to them," says Curly.

"The river is almost beneath us now," announces Grimblegrot. "We'll go down lower and follow the valley."

"I'll look out this side," says Curly. "You keep an eye open on that side, Boysie."

"But what am I keeping an eye open for?" Boysie asks.

"Anything unusual," Grimblegrot tells him. "If you see anything that looks wrong, just shout."

The friends follow the river for some distance until Grimblegrot spots something.
"Look!" he cries. "There's something strange in the river."

"Oh yes!" says Curly. "Whatever can it be?"

"There's only one way to find out," says Grimblegrot. "Down we go!"

As the helicopter drops towards the water it begins to make a strange noise.
"What's happening?" Boysie asks. "Are we going to crash?"

"I hope not," Grimblegrot says. "I think I can land safely."

"But what is wrong with the helicopter?" Curly asks.

"I think the synchrotronic stabiliser has gone wrong. Don't worry. We'll be all right."
